New Year, New Trends, Same Body part? You heard it here first friends, tied shoulder details are the next trend to watch.
There are several factors leading to tied shoulder details being the next great trend. Thanks to the popularity of off the shoulder tops, we are already used to the idea of showing a little shoulder. Bonus points: like OTS, it’s not a difficult trend to pull-off either!
Tied shoulders can stand alone for a tank-like appearance. Or it can be paired with an off the shoulder detail to make a fun twist on your typical cold-shouldered tops. It looks fantastic on anything that would be worn on your shoulder. From bathing suits (like mine here) to tops, dresses, and jumpsuits. It comes in functional as well as sewn ties. The big advantage to have functional tying shoulders, is you can easily control the length of your straps! I know controlling strap length is a standard struggle for me being on the more petite side, so I love the functionality.
I already own a few pieces with this tied shoulder detail, but have my eye on more! Today I have used my lilac Gianni Bini jumpsuit as an example. I fell in love with this shade of purple recently. Everything this color has been catching my eye! It fits amazingly and is the perfect length for me to not have to wear major heels. And of course, the tied shoulder detail is such a fun and feminine touch. The only downside here is that you may have to have a little help from a friend to get the tie juuussstt right.
Looking forward, I believe this will translate well to the fall/mild winter areas (hey-o, Texas!). I would love to see this detail implemented with sweaters! It would add the sweetest element to a feminine fall look, especially in blush pink!

I am so sad to say that my jumpsuit is no longer online 🙁 check your local Dillard’s to see if it is still in stock!
Other ways to own the trend: dress I believe would be stunning for the holidays | basic black cami | super cute pink top! (This is one of those I have my eye on)
What do you think about this trend? Will you be trying out tied shoulders?
