This weekend I had the opportunity to go home and see my family. I’ve been living in Dallas, TX for 11 weeks now, and being from South Carolina, going home isn’t the easiest thing to accomplish. And while I was there mostly for my youngest brother’s graduation – Congratulations Ben! – my biggest desire was to go to the beach while I was home.
Living in SC my whole life, I definitely took living in a coastal state for granted. I know, I know, ‘Texas has a coast’ but it is 5-6 hours away, while back home it was only 2 plus free accommodations once I got there thanks to my Mimi. First I approached Ben a month or so ago asking “If it’s okay with you, I would really like to go to the beach the Saturday after your graduation”. Then I thought, eh, you’re here all summer, I have 72 hours, we’re going to the beach. The weather app did not look promising, but we made the drive anyway, and I am so glad we did!
I bought a new suit with this outing in mind. I’ve never been a fan of string bikinis, they aren’t secure enough for me. This suit checked the boxes of: being secure, being family friendly, and being SUPER cute. I love the big stripes with colors that I wouldn’t have originally thought to put together, but totally works! AND it stayed in place when I was jumping, skipping, and cartwheeling on the beach because I was just so happy to be there!
