You may have seen the beautiful photos of the Amalfi Coast in Italy. It is a lovely collection of seaside towns built on cliffs. With brightly colored buildings, lots of limoncello, and blue water, there is no wonder why this area is a popular destination for locals and international tourists alike. One of the most famous towns along that coast is Positano. But unlike Cinque Terre to the north, there is no train connecting these little cliff-side villages. Here is my guide to how I got to Positano plus what I would do differently next time.
If you’re anything like me, you may have left some Christmas shopping to the last minute. Not to panic! If anyone in your life (or yourself) is always on the go, has more airline miles than you thought was possible, and/or describes themselves as a “wanderlust” this is the gift guide for you! Most all of these items are from Amazon and at the time of linking were still available for delivery by Christmas with prime shipping! Happy gifting!
Part of my job is being on call. This means for a 12 hour period I have to be ready to go to the airport and work a trip with as little as 2 hours of notice. A couple weeks ago I woke up like any other day, only on this day I had a notification I would be working the flight to London that night! I couldn’t believe it and was so excited! Upon boarding the plane I was greeted by a fellow crew member, Erica, who told me her plans to walk most of the city when we landed. We only had 23 hours after all. I agreed to join her, here’s how my one day in London went.
I have wanted to go to Paris ever since I saw a photo of the Hall of Mirrors in Chateau de Versailles when I was 10 years old. I tried to make it happen several times throughout my life but between life events and money the trip never came to be. At the beginning of July 2021, I saw someone post a photo from Versailles with it practically empty. France had just reopened to foreign tourists and the crowd sizes were very low. I looked at my July schedule, saw I had four days off at the end of the month and decided it was time.
With my first and last day taken up by travel, I had just 48 hours to see as much as I could in the City of Light. I put some feelers out to see if anyone else was available to go with me, and luckily had two friends, Melissa and Amy, to explore Paris with!
On July 31, I worked a trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Even the views from the airport are stunning. I decided that when I had days off the next week I wanted to come back to Wyoming and maybe see Yellowstone National park. I brought the idea up to my brother, Will, who asked if he could come along. “Of course you can!” I said, and we started planning. However, Wyoming is rather expensive so 24 hours out, we changed up the plan and decided to go to Denver, Colorado instead. Here’s how you can throw together a last minute trip to Denver.
Traveling is one of the most rewarding things you can do. It stretches your comfort zone and exposes you to new ideas. It can also be very stressful. Especially when air travel is involved. So many rules to follow on what you can and cannot bring, time sensitive planning, and how to haul everything are just a few of the stressors when planning to fly. As an individual who flys for work now (it’s literally my job lol) I have come across a few items that make it easier. Today I am sharing with you my favorite ’personal item’ backpack!
This year was the first of many atypical holiday seasons for me. While Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years were crazy (I worked on all of them), I still had some time off to escape the dreary cold in Boston. When 2 friends and I had the same 3 days off we knew we had to go somewhere. My only conditions were that our destination was warm and budget friendly. This birthed our girls’ getaway to Tulum!
